I have a 1997 Defender and the rear mudflaps are cracked and split at the brackets. Does anyone know of a good way of repairing these rather than replacing them or has anyone any good suggestions. These are the originals with the Land Rover markings so I would rather keep them if I can. I was thinking of a rubber repair compound? Otherwise I will have to make up some extension plates to keep them together. They are not falling off just yet but I don't want them to get any worse.

I think you can get replacements with the land rover logo on them as well, but the above will keep them, going for a little longer. you will find that they fail at the same point in the future though as that is the place they flex and eventually crack.
