Hi Flossie, I’m being so dumb as I didn’t realise that yes there is a spring on that ignition switch and finally I have leaned it now how to use it. It does allow me to twist the key to spring and glow plug light come on. Thanks for your help...
Yes tighten to spec then 90 degrees
In reality you will need the crank locking tool and a 6 foot tube to go on your breaker bar to even get close to that
You will almost certainly need the special tool to get the crank pulley off too

The box itself is a pretty basic item, Overhaul kit available. It is just that the steering column has to come out with it, not so bad with 2/2A as no dash in the way. Series 3 more work.
Your float could be down to worn out dampers/shocks, other possible is worn bushings/brackets in rear axle.
How much lift did it have? If more than 2 inch likely shocks will be overlength and not compress enough now.
SWB are fine without anti...
If it is grease then someone has put it in hoping to keep box lubricated. It should be oil in there.
There is an O ring seal behind the output arm that is likely gone.

A non working servo does indeed make it very difficult to brake.
A 2a ,for example, takes a fair bit of leg effort having no servo but a vehicle with a non functioning servo makes the brakes almost non exsistent.
Even though my Ninety is low milage per year these days I still change out the pads every two years. Truck does spend time in the crud and if you let the pads wear right down pistons get rusty. I know should fit stainless but just have never got...
In the case of rebuild I would too. Another reason for having multiple fuses is that it is simpler to find which circuit has issues. Right pain on a series when the fuse goes and you have to check every thing it does. Although not a two it is...
Just to let you all know I took the landy for a short run to settle the springs and then checked the axle to chassis distance and all seemed about right tighten them up and I can't belive how much better it rides over pot holes and bumps...
To test a servo is functioning. With engine off press pedal down a few times. Then with your foot pressed firmly on the pedal start the engine. When working you will feel the pedal move down some more. If nothing happens then either servo is duff...
The same can be said for most of the car's trucks of that time. On the good side wires were of a larger gauge with copper of better quality, switches were chunky. After all they have mostly lasted forty years and more.
My old man was waved out of our farm track by the old chap at the road end. He was a pain to be honest but ment well.
On this occasion a mate of mine was charging round the blind bend in his go faster cavalier. Hit the SWB square in the drivers...
