    No I never removed the engine from the vehicle, it was removed and in bits when I bought it, I fitted the torque converter onto the flywheel and dropped the lot in, it's located on the splines and just sat in place on the engine mount but as I stated earlier theres a 5-6mm gap around the bell...

    Slight balls up so to say I've fitted the torque converter onto the engine then dropped it in! If I lift the engine and using a jack to raise the box and rotate the via the crankshaft pulley bolt will it drop in or do I have to start again?

    Started fitting a replacement motor today in the disco, engine went in smoothly untill the splines started to locate on the torque converter, had to loosen both engine mounts just to get the engine sat at the correct position and now I'm stuck with a 5-6mm gap all the way around the bell housing...
