Temperature gauge never seems to go above half way. The smell is also sometimes like burnt oil but mainly like hot carbon but if you (Leviathan) are experiencing a similar thing too then hopefuly its nothing to worry about. Thank you for the info.

Same thing, just the smell which goes as the box changes back up through the gears. Only happens when you put your foot down to kick down, no unusual noises, there is plenty of go and its ok if you keep the windows and sunroof closed so you dont smell it.
