Same thing, just the smell which goes as the box changes back up through the gears. Only happens when you put your foot down to kick down, no unusual noises, there is plenty of go and its ok if you keep the windows and sunroof closed so you dont smell it. Open the rear window and the smell comes in. But as I said if you drive around sedately it does not happen.

Happens in mine 2, smells more like coolant to me...or sometimes even petrol....I jist do me daily checks of coolant level, oil un watch the temp gauge more than the road.

Temperature gauge never seems to go above half way. The smell is also sometimes like burnt oil but mainly like hot carbon but if you (Leviathan) are experiencing a similar thing too then hopefuly its nothing to worry about.
