    hiya, drain plug is between exhaust and dipstick tube (13mm), stand by passenger headlight and you'll see it.. it holds most of the coolant......!

    blue beasty, thanks for that, thinks i got it now... bump, thats a nice gesture, likewise if you need an extra pair of hands im happy to help, i'll be on it next couple weekends, gonna make my own valve spring compressor to get valves out saturday...!!! i'll let you know how it goes...

    hiya, james thanks for the advice, it did have the pulley with a lip on and i think it was this lip that shaved the belt to half its width causing failure; skinny belt; http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/attachment.php?attachmentid=37218&stc=1&d=1351811200 timing case full of shavings...

    Hiya, i,ve picked up a lot of helpful info off these site's so thought i might share this with you all.... 300tdi disco on a p plate (96), not bad nick, try to do as much as i can myself although im no mechanic, (brickie actually)..had the car 2 years and 20,000 miles, had a new timing belt...

    been browsing these sites for a while and just wanted to say thanks for all the info, its been a godsend... currently on my 2nd disco in 7 years, got a 300tdi, (96-p,reg) both been great cars, had my timing belt changed when i bought it 2 years and 20,000 miles ago so was a bit suprised when it...
