the sugested oil for my 3.9 d1 is 10w40 but i found a vid on youtube about a small ticking noise from a landrover v8 they changed the oil to 15w40 and it disapeared. i am asuming running a v8 on 15w40 would be fine then?
Cool cheers for the help gota find some cash now, cheapest i found was £250 for an exchange recond v/c. Another quick question maybe silly but i had a navara previously and when that was in 4wd turning in a tight circle would make alont of tyre noise and it would struggle. This isnt happening...
v/c is definatly tight i have to pretty much jump on the bar to get the wheel to move a few inches. If i knock the transfer box in neutral should it then spin even if the vc is seized?
cheers all thanks cleared my mind. if i lift one front wheel it wont turn but both front turn if both front are off the floor. i didnt try with a bar just by hand. yeah i remember loosing abit of skin freeing up my mates diff lock linkage.
i removed the center colsol on my disco 1 to have a look as i thought it was seized and this is what i found

yeah it has the flap style door handles side facing 6 n 7th seats and the indicators that have a slope on them. I have removed center consol n had a look and the lever definatly dosnt have anywere to slide. Hence my confusion.
