    For the cats, Id wait and see how it does on the emmissions test, If it passes emmisions then Id leave it be. The sill Id replace, doesnt look much good metal there to weld to! propshafts arent a testable item.

    The battery insecure is an advisory for now, however if a battery cover is fitted then it isnt possible to tell whether the battery is secure or not, and testers are not allowed to dismantle vehices inorder to test them.

    Caliper cost.

    If the ebay seller looks good ie lots of good feedback, has a returns policy etc etc then it might be worth the chance. Ive had a lot of parts of ebay with no problems, However with brakes Im not sure its a risk Id like to take! Have you tried Eurocarparts? usually a better price than GT.

    well the fusebox and becm are at my mates for checking, no obvious problems with either, both dry and clean inside. Will hopefully know soon! Think I would have prefered seeing an obvious problem! Anything else I can be checking on the car while Im waiting??

    I had a series 3 88' diesel as my first car, actually passed my driving test in it. Although a good few years ago it was easy to insure, and hard to get done for speeding in!
