Thought id pop back an update with my solution. Turns out the seatbelts in the front are longer by around 5-600mm. So brought a front belt off ebay, popped it on and job done.

Do you have to strip the diff to get to this spider nut? You you have a link or guide to this?

My neighbour has a 300tdi so I cn check for a comparasion. Really hoping its just the diff, thats more than I can realistically do anyway. How will I know if its the transfer box aswell? How can you be sure its a 24 spline diff?

Apparently so, was told they will fit mine but need holes drilling as the 3dr doesnt have the same hole pattern as the 5dr. Has the full fitting kit to do this.

I collected and paid cash so im stuff with them untill I can shift them. Open to offers.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but looking to do this and wondered if anyone has any pictures that would help me out. Looking to do this the short way and unbolt the whole hub/cv assembly rather than stripping it piece by piece as suggested by Trewey above.

Brought off ebay but turns out there 5 dr not 3dr. Sellers fault but wont take them back. Anyway they are genuine land rover arch and rub strips. Brand new with clips and sticky unused. Look real tidy, could do with a wash but thats about it, theres a small bit of sticky tape missing on one of...

Its a 300tdi with 157k. The ujs feel fine apparently? (took it to a local driveshaft specialist) Unsure but looking at new diffs (worst case scenario) how do I find out what spline diff/shaft do I have?

Is the rear view mirror the boss type (not flat glue on style) if so how much posted to b31?

Had a clunking from when I brought it (typical) an got under today to investigate, seems theres a good 1/2 turn (1/4 each way) in the front shaft. I am very mechanically minded an would like to know how an what to repair/replace. Preferably with pictures/links/guides but any help appreciated.

Checked the fan cowling, all tight an clips intact Idler seems fine, runs ok, next to no play in bearings an belt stays in contact through rev range Bonnet strut is in its clip which appears tight? Could it still be this?

Wouldnt have thought that would cause a rattle. As far as I know, if an engine mount wears out it will allow excess play creating a knock/thud? Or am I completely wrong?
