Thanks Oldseadog - So, I don't have an alternator sensed rev-counter so, W is out. That leaves me with 4 cables (3 of which are joined in a multi plug) and one more chunky cable which I think definitely goes to B+. So, with the three in the 'multi-plug', one of these will be the warning...

What is a Decat Pipe ...... how do you fit one ...... and do modified ones really make a difference to a 2.0TD Freelander? You can get them from a bloke called Roverron, or off e-bay for £25 wondred if they are any good? Anyone tried one?:)

RevJames has just suggested that the battery may be on the way out - the extra demand when the lights go on is too much for the alternator ........ sounds plausible. I wonder though if the 'Battery' light would be coming on on the dash if this was the case ? Karcus

Mines a 'T' Reg Tdi with 149000 miles on the clock and still going strong - only problem (at the moment) is that the power drops when the headlights are turned on!! Karcus
