    Tyre size for a 2A

on SWB or LWB 750's were the largest factory option unless you have a one ton or military chassis with extended hangers where 900's will fit. In practicle terms 235/85 is about as big as you can go before you need to put on eyebrows on the wings as has been said above. it depends what rims...

    750x16

actually it relates to the tyre being radial 750R16 is for radial tyre 750x16 normally is used for crossply the speed rating comes after 3 types i think 1. early double ended for s1, s2 and 2a 2. circa 1970 shorter ones for 2A half length but on same thread/spanner size as above 3...

    su carb

I think it would have been a zenith 316v rather then SU carb for a 2.25 S3. SU's and strombergs were found on the 6 pot but were put on a as mod by some owners to the 2.25 engine.

    series tyres

what rims are you using? original spec swb are 5" which is a little narrow for 750's and you might find the tyres are a little pinched For 750's you should really use 5.5" wide rims (LWB standard spec)

registered in 68 but new chasis and engine. Tax Free??

As Yella says ^^^^^ You have to maintain a minimunumber of points to retain the tax exemption class and the plate (ie you get put on a Q). Chassis, axles, gearbox, suspension, engine all count towards the points. body work doesn't Can't remember offhand the point value for each but will look...

    Head Gasket?

run a compression check on the engine. If the gaskets blown you will see it straight away with the results. you can pick up the kit from scewfix for not alot and can saves hours of headscratching

    series 2 air vents

I remember hearing somewhere that it isn't necessary to glue them in. Could be a load of bollox tho. Liek Slob said I would go with a contact glue evostick type stuff, however I think I would buy some rather than nicking it off some chav estate ;)

    bio fuel

not strickly true. The US is very much geared up for production of gasoline and as such has very complex coking refineries. In Europe we are changing from gasoline focus to diesel as the car population is changing over to diesel so our refineries are now re-gearing to produce a greater...

it drives pretty well to with a 3.0L straight 6. I've been lucky enough to have a ride on the back of it but they wouldn't let me take it for a spin offroad (after I dented my own one)

    bio fuel

Over here at 8 mpg you'd be better off just buying BP or Exxon, it ost the same as driving a few miles:) The big difference here is we get hammered with tax on fuel. The actual cost of fuel is very slightly higher but the tax is MASSIVE in comparison to the US As a result fuel economy is a...

    bio fuel

most diesel you buy these days inthe UK has 5% biodiesel in it known as B5 and has the same spec as regualr diesel EN590 and diesels will be ok. The most common for of biodiesel is rapeseed methyl ester, cause we can grow it and its properties are pretty good in comparison to other options...
