    How original is your Defender.

1986 90 pickup Originally Now has galvanised, modified disco chassis, 200tdi engine, disco front axle and hardtop. Some of the frame and interior still looks original :)

Also have EBC green stuff (although not fitted yet), Landy used for towing mostly so no trouble warming up with 2.5 tonne horse box and 2 700kg horses pushing from the rear. :D

    dodge starter relay?????

Vearon, if you search the Defender forum for "Earth Strap" there are loads of topics. Looks like my problem is related to the fact I had both the battery contacts off to remove a wiring loom for an amplifier.

    dodge starter relay?????

Strangely enough I was about to ask almost the same question, my 90 has been fine for a few weeks since I bought it. Jacked it up to have a look behind the wheels today (not pretty ) and once back on the ground again have the same clicking you mention. Quick search through the archives...

    Lifetime Ambition

Hi All, After over 20 years of wishing (and several looking at Defenders on sale on Ebay recently) I finally have a lovely old Defender 90 outside my house :D Its main purpose in life will be to tow horses in a horsebox but I may be tempted to have a dig around and tinker/improve/break...
