Sounds like the new clutch was slipping. Is it adjusted correctly? or possibly oil leak onto new clutch? Did it smell after spinning the engine?

Don't panic, have solved it. infamous disapearing Disco clutch fluid and a decent bleed. Adjusted the front wheel bearings whilst I was at it and it even drives in a straight line now. Can't blame the steering anymore for my bad driving though.
