Joining a club is a good idea but if you want to do it without a club then do this. Get an OS map of the area - 1:25000 or 1:50000. Look for Byways open to all trafic (BOAT's) these are red or green cross lines (+ + + + + )depending on which scale map. Also look for 'Other Routes with Public...
