    Defender air con

Lol no I mean from a recent car that's had a rear end shunt or something. I wouldn't put any old crap on it obviously :-)

    Defender air con

I am tempted to buy the car as is, and if we really think we can't live without the air con - get the bits from one of the breakers on eBay

    Defender air con

Thanks for your replies all - and the links to the d44 website. The car is a 14 plate csw. I am near Chester and we would use it as a family car - me, the wife, 2 kids and a big dog Personally I think we can live without the air con - but wifey is adamant we have to have it...

    Defender air con

Because in my opinion all station wagon variants should have it. Even more so when they are 20k plus. A 90 pick up I could forgive not putting air con on that, but a csw no.

    Defender air con

Hi guys I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on a late model 110 csw. I was amazed to find that the vehicle does not have air con! Other than that omission the basic spec is fine for my needs. Couple of questions if ok - 1. Could a unit like this one be put behind the front seats...

    Galv chassis - painting questions

Hi all, New richards chassis, which I am painting (slowly) I have done the mordant solution bit and now I have painted with hammerite special metals primer. Question is - I have some red oxide primer in garage, should I now paint it with that before finishing it with chassis black, or is...

    Experience with Chevron 10W/40?

Good quality oil - I used to use it but now I have gone to the chevron 5w-30 in blue 20l from Costco which is a great product and I use it in everything from 300tdi to wife's honda cdti

    Suspension recommendation

Hi all Part of the process of rebuilding my defender onto a galv chassis will be new suspension. I don't mind paying for quality - in fact I would rather do that. So, along those lines, what can people recommend? I can't justify ome, but at the other end I never read any good reports...

    Richards galv chassis options

Hi ste nova - thanks for the photos! That's exactly it. The guy at richards described it as an angle bracket which bolts to the top of the crossmember and the tub bolts to that. Sorted now - thanks again!

    Richards galv chassis options

Spoke to richards this morning. They were extremely helpful and took quite some time to explain the various options to me regarding fuel tank set up / rear crossmember tub mount and even roll cage mounts! Am so far very pleased with their service, 6 weeks lead time quoted - that's fine with...

    Richards galv chassis options

4-6 weeks they quoted me. To be honest if it makes my Landy last another 20 years I'm not bothered about a couple of weeks.

    Richards galv chassis options

Hi - thanks for all replies. I have just yesterday ordered my chassis from richards (have gone for td5 rear crossmember) but am in a stew over a couple of things: 1. Richards asked me what mounts I want for tub on rear crossmember? I thought there was only one type and that was tabs on the...

    Richards galv chassis options

Hi all, I am about to pull the trigger on a richards galvanised chassis for my 300tdi defender. I have a question regarding options on the chassis: 1. Bolt on gearbox crossmember is a no brainer, right? 2. Should I get td5 rear fuel tank arrangement with td5 rear crossmember? what are...
