    Thanks Steve I will check when I am home from work ( which will be end of Feb!) I reckon that with the length thing I may be better Modding some D1 Front rails to fit the rear. I think the extended rails improve the roof line. Thanks for the info and great thread as well.

    Question for anyone looking, do the roof rail extensions fit a D1 300? or should I buy the D2 Rails and fit or should I make up my own from a front set. It looks like the D2 roof is double skinned/reinforced for the Rear rails. I am looking for a neat solution for carrying the odd sheet of 8x4...

    Hot Alternator!!

    New Battery, The alternator is new and sold to me as a 100 amp. Just daylight running (no Lights) and heater fan running the Alternator was too hot to touch so over 60 degrees C after about ten minutes. Just wondering if I should get on to the supplier and complain. Keeps the battery charged OK...

    Can anyone tell me if their Alternator gets too hot to touch after a couple of miles driving?? I fitted a replacement recently and hot alternator seems wrong to me

    Thanks but fitting that I still have the issue of bolting through the plastic and double skinned bits of the bumper I think? I was thinking of something that the lights will hang underneath but above the bumper

    Here's the thing, I have two 8" driving lights to fit to the front of the Disco but Just drilling through the front bumper doesn't seem the way to make a decent job of it as there are the Plastic bits and the double skinned bit underneath. What I rather fancied was an "A Bar" like I had on my...
