    110 300Tdi Immobiliser!!!

When wont start I've got no voltage at either the starter motor solenoid or the diesel pump fuel cut off solenoid. You could just pop down to your local main dealers and buy a spider bypass wire. They cost about £8 Or I could just solder two jumpers for nothing on the spider, but that...

    Front hub excessive play

I'm in the process of changing my front diff as it ate a bearing! I seperated the hubs from the swivel/axle (seven bolt) flange and have them stood up in the wheels. I was checking them over and noticed the that when you hold of the N/S (long haftshaft) halfshaft it has quite a bit of play (when...

Help my new 110 is making nasty noise!

No it's definitely a 300TDi, it was registered new in April 1999, so one of the final ones made in 1998!. I don't when that stopped final production exactly in 1998, may even have been early 1999when they stopped producing them?

Still not found the problem, but getting closer. Drained transfer box, fine swarf on drain plug, no chunks-big bits. Removed front prop, newly replaced UJ fine and the other UJ also fine. Drained front diff, fine swarf as transfer box. Rotate the input flange on front diff very...

Help my new 110 is making nasty noise!

Haven't checked the wheel bearings, but they're definitely worth checking. busterbus, from your photo's you've obviously done the T/B front bearing, were you doing an overhaul or had it failed. What noise did make if it failed? Thanks Matt

Perfect thanks, that takes all the thinking and questions out of changing the T/B front output shaft bearing. I'm pretty sure/hoping thats the bearing which has seized. Thanks Matt

Help my new 110 is making nasty noise!

My new to me 1999 Defender 300TDi manual van is making a very nasty noise from I think the transfer box. I've had it about a month and in that time there's been a very intermittent screeching noise, only lasts a second. Sounds like gearbox area? I have replaced the front propshaft front UJ...

Hello, I've just got my first Defender a 110 300TDi 1999 Van, clean and tidy pretty pleased with it overall. I've started to do the jobs I could see needed doing when I bought, the oil leaks etc. I need to replace the front UJ on the front propshaft, pretty straighforward. What can't...
