problem sorted it was a clogged up injector,thanks for all the help guys

if you torque them up it stops the springs from twisting(bad thing)and also help protect your bushes from splitting(also a bad thing).so my advise is to torque them up ;)

i got same procomps and parabols and fitted mine last week so what i did is this,got the springs in place one corner of the landy at a time then tighten the nuts and bolts just enough to make sure nothing falls off, jack the axel up untill the chassis starts to lift(the shackles should be...

does anyone know the size of socket i need for the wheel bearing nut on a series 3? thanks

i found my diesel on preloved.co.uk, £550 with mot you might be lucky and find one on there.im 22 and paying £400 fully comp with lancaster insurance.

reet its not the thermo thats working fine.sent some injector cleaner through the system and its picked up a little so it must be a fault in the fuel sytem some where,ill check it all over tomo and let you know if i find it.

you know get some fluffy dice in it and maybe some animal print seat covers there great for making it cosy:D(get the paint out and give it coat or two if your feeling generous);)

hi all,im new to land rovers just bought a series 3 88" diesel for £550 owned it for a month and spent around 700 on just parts mainly on the springs(parabolics) and shocks(procomp)and new set of rims and every day a new problem shows its face so as a newbie to landies i would say a rebuild...

ok overdrive is engaged so its not that but have noticed a gap between the exhaust manifold and exhaust big enough to fit a pound coin in all the way around could this be my problem with the lack of go in the landy???

how would i know if the overdrive has disegaged without the lever?would i see any gaps or do i just try and shove it towards the gear box?:confused:or am i completly off mark here?

ive got overdrive, when i changed the rear springs i accidentally allowed the axel to drop almost to the floor do you think this could of disegaged the overdrive as i dont have a lever connected to engage a disegage it?regards

now then one problem sorted(touch wood)anyone got advice on the lack of power issue?? it would be much appreciated.as im a complete novice when it comes to diesel land rovers. :confused2:

just done your checks and found 2 bearings need doing,i dont have a clue why i didnt think of that,so ill get them sorted asap thanks for the help

lol i thought i had,yep every things torqued up and on correct, just checked the uj's one is worn abit i think as there is a tiny amount of movement in it,and just noticed one of the engine mount rubbers is perishing so that could explain the vibration.but the the speed problem is my main worry...

hi all, can anyone help ive just bought a series 3 88 diesel (my very first landy)and changed the old broken leaf springs a crappy shocks.but since doing so there is alot of vibration as i pick up speed and it will only get to about 45mph flat out and slows to around 30/35 on a very slight hill...
