    Stuck gearbox dipstick.

    All series 2 boxes had disticks, I think. Both the ones I've had anyway (61 & 69). Mine has a dipstick but no oil - it got very hot. Frost do a magic liquid that repairs seals - I'll let youi know if it works!

    Problem sorted - dipstick was bent inside - forced in I guess. A hook & hammer sorted it.

    Stuck gearbox dipstick.

    Has anyone had experience of the gearbox dipstick getting stuck in a series 2A? I can move mine up & down a couple of mm, twist it & jiggle it, but it just won't come out. I've even taken out the floor to get a better grip. Any ideas?

    I can't get my twin CD175s to talk to each other - one runs rich even with the jet screwed right up. I'm going to renew the jet & needle on both but would appreciate it if anyone can point to me to a good and readable guide. All experience so far has been with SUs. Are they much the same...

    Can anybody tell me whether I can change valve guides in V8 heads without hundreds of specialist tools? I've done it successfully with other aluminium heads using an oven, freezer & a lump hammer, but I'm more cautious these days. I guess even if I get them in, I still need the correct reamer...
