Has anyone had experience of the gearbox dipstick getting stuck in a series 2A? I can move mine up & down a couple of mm, twist it & jiggle it, but it just won't come out. I've even taken out the floor to get a better grip.

Any ideas?

Thats the second time a gbox dipstick has come up...

Are you sure thats not the gear lever your trying to pull out?

Problem sorted - dipstick was bent inside - forced in I guess. A hook & hammer sorted it.

I believe the old series boxes had dipsticks on them! We just don't expect to ever see one so no one ever looks. Given Landys not great sealing systems a dipstick on anything that holds oil doesn't sound like a bad idea

the only thing thats HOLDS oil on a landy is the spare can of the stuff in the back

All series 2 boxes had disticks, I think. Both the ones I've had anyway (61 & 69). Mine has a dipstick but no oil - it got very hot. Frost do a magic liquid that repairs seals - I'll let youi know if it works!
