I've got a capstan winch sitting in garage working with brackets and looking to sell as changed engine to a 200tdi if you want to go for the classic look, has massive amounts of pull on it.
Have you tried adjusting the catch on door pillar, I have had to loosen the fixing and try get to door to close and lock and mark where catch is and tighten up when it is in the right place, u can normally see from inside where it is getting stuck.
I've gone for the drill hole in floor idea works well after bit of rain no puddle but before would get a puddle, mine goes in under the window seal I was supplied seems just cm to short and gives u the water feature in the Landy :)
So could u keep a capstan winch with a 200 or 300 tdi? I have taken mine off at the moment as to allow access and bits as I'm currently removing the 2.25 petrol and was thinking of selling it due to new engine.
Hi people am looking to put either 200tdi or 300tdi have looked at the differences on both and seen what would need doing depending on what engine but would like to see what people have used before or had any experience gd or bad with either the two options.:)
Nice long breaker bar and lift front up to give loads of room finally got mine off. That seal is a pain make sure sits in correctly as had to re do mine as had a small leak and see wasn't sitting correctly.
Regarding getting the springs off I had to use heat to mine off the expand and shrink the metal and finally come off. Can be right pain to get them off.
hi im 19 and footman james insure me on classic policy, but make sure you tell them you want a classic policy as there normal policy's are for over 21s
