    Series 2A: from Dynamo to Alternator?

    Given that I don't do a lot of driving in the LR on cold wet nights (that's what modern cars are for, eh?), I'm unlikely to need all the oomph of an alt. all athat often. The clean-up job on the commutator and new brushes sounds better. I suppose I'd better start looking for new brushes...
