Updade the oil leak is from the power steering pump by the looks of things, still not sure if a 1.8 petrol power steering pump will fit tho, may have to sorce a L series one as no one seems to know if they are compatable.

Thanks for that you can pull the pedal back up but there is still no pressure against it and if you press it again it goes back to the floor. Is it best just to get the master and slave cylinder changed are they an easy job is there much labour involved? Many thanks.

Hi there was reversing my freelander out this morning and the clutch pedal dropped to the floor but the car kept going only way to stop it was to switch off engine as it would not then come out of gear till engine was stopped do they have a clutch cable or are we looking at master cylinder? or...

Did you change the whole front prop or just the uj on the front prop? It Definatly the uj thats broken not the IRD thats noisy.

I had a serious knocking from the end of the prop where it joins the engine what ever is in there is either badly worn or broken so have removed the prop not investigated it yet, is it a uv joint inside the rubber boot if so can this be replaced or is it easier/cheaper to get a new/used one...

Hi im just after a bit of adice i have just put on 2 new propshaft bearings and a new nose diff bush on a mk1 freelander diesel now the steering shudders quite badly and the whole prop seems to shake especially above 40 mph. A friend has advised i may not have lined up the ujs on the prop but...

Has anyone tryed using a poly bush instead of the rubber ones on the front diff bush on the mk1 freelander would love some advice as mine is in need of a change and im considering trying one instead of the rubber one.:confused: Thanks
