OK some numbers originally I would have budgeted around 10k including new chassis but not paint .but now that's reduced but still covers a lot of bought items ,kits , upgraded parts and labour costs .the dilemma is do you start with a project vehicle or a better example .where do you add value...

Yes the chassis is very solid obvious repairs in the past .I was going to replace but have decided to renovate the chassis including replace rear crossmember strip back rust seal and paint plus any patches .the bulkhead needs attention at the top end . Radiator panel getting shot blasted . Repair section in post .tank disassembled fuel had turned to varnish causing starting problems so its being chemically stripped . Filter mesh for fuel uptake pipe and fuel pump ordered also new starter motor solenoid

So I think this vehicle may not be entirely original .non original 200tdi from disco1, later series doors .homemade wiring looms also bonnet and shackles . So it's I starting point .did I mention missing bits heater, wiper motor ,inner arches , intercooler and fan no gauges .££

Currently repenting at leisure this time its a 1959 109 with truck cab and 200tdi .. Previous 1976 '88, also 1982 '109. Starting to tinker. living in N. Ireland
