Is this link any good, shows the reel mounted to a bracket on the floor with another bracket below the floor. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/landrover-90-truck-cab-seat-belt-fitting-pics-please.380321/

Do you have a top mount like this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193142925909 We had something similar on the 2a but the reel mounted onto the bottom part of that bracket. They brackets came out of an early Ninety I think.

    Disco 2 Engine cooling fan

He has a Foxwell so we could clear the fault code. Looks like a pain to get to when you have spot lights, might not bother. I know his fan spins so atleast it hasn't seized up. We have had the coolant sensor disconnected before but since it was reconnected before ignition was switched on it...

    Wrong bolts?

Seems like it should be BH612321 which is 3/4 × 4 What has been supplied seems to be RYG501550 which is M16 x 100mm (2007 onwards) What a nuisance. I presume the bushes must also have changed from that date onwards.

    Disco 2 Engine cooling fan

What I find interesting is running the vehicle with the outside temp sensor disconnected. Apart from the ac fan doesn't anything else rely on knowing what the outside temp is?

    Wrong bolts?

As per my other thread I am changing the rear suspension bushes. I have ordered rear bush kit DA1248G (1986-2009) and rear bolt kit DA7208 (2000-2016). My model year is 2002. While the bush kit matches what is on there the upper A-frame bush bolts don't seem to match. The new bolts are a fair...

Out of interest why not copper grease? I usually use that where the bolt goes through a cavity/bush/sleeve. I have some of each, also have some ceramic grease, that any use?

Wish I hadn't started this job!

I did think about letting the axle drop but to be honest I didn't think it would drop far enough. Also I would have had to put the axle stands under the chassis and take the rear wheels off to let it drop far enough. Couldn't be bothered to try something I didn't think would work, but now I know...

    Disco 2 Engine cooling fan

When you say engine cooling fan guess you mean the aircon fan ? It's my understanding it should only come on over a certain exterior temperature to supplement the viscous fan. Don't know why it would suddenly start working though.

Wish I hadn't started this job!

For some reason I decided it would be a good idea to replace the rear suspension bushes. Done this before on my son's Ninety and all the bolts came undone no problem. So, I thought it would be a good thing to do mine. Both long bolts holding the fulcrum on rusted solid, although the nuts came...

    Wiring question

In the end I used a switched live and the earth from behind the radio, I also used that for the bulb. The gauge is mounted next to the radio so was an easy option. Thank you for the advice.

    Temperature Gauge Installation South Wales

If the sender breaks or strips the threads then that will be a proper pain, also finding the correct sender is something of a pain. You could put an adaptor in the top hose to take an aftermarket sensor. I have just done this for pretty much the same issue as you describe.

    Temperature Gauge Installation South Wales

Coolant temp gauge is unlikely to work correctly as the gauge and sender are mismatched, although it should still work incorrectly. Hope that makes sense but I doubt it! If its a Disco engine, Defender engine not sure about.
