    Help Needed!!! Td5 110 Problems

In the hope it helps someone else... My problem (identical symptoms to the first post) was indeed a stiking wastegate. My very helpful garage have managed to free off the wastegate without replacing the turbo (phew) although we'll have to see how long it lasts.

    Help Needed!!! Td5 110 Problems

hmmn, Mines just come back. Looks like a new turbo for me :-( It's being caused by an erratic boost pressure (i.e. it looks like the wastegate is sticking). They have tried a new air flow meter but it made no difference. ho hum...

    Help Needed!!! Td5 110 Problems

Hi Barry, I have exactly the same problem with my TD5 (2000 plate). I've been driving around the problem for the last few months but have finally given up and booked it into my local, friendly, non-franchise dealer next Monday. I'll let you know how he gets on with it. He thinks it may be...

    TD5 acceleration stutters

Thanks Jim. Whilst I had the cover off I checked both sides of the connector where it comes out the tappet cover - both looked fine with no oil. I'll try a new fuel filter but it looks as if I'll have to bite the bullet and take it to a dealer. Some might say it serves me right for buying a...

    TD5 acceleration stutters

Jim , Sean, Many thanks. I found it in the end. I missed that there was a compartment under the mat. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) the plug is completely clean so that doesn't appear to be the problem. I'll have to get the fuelling checked. It's worth giving the fuel filter a try, and I...

A beginers question. Where on earth is my ECU?

Don;t worry - found it eventually. Didn't see the compartment under the seat. Unfortuately is wasn't the problem - as clean as a whistle :-(

A beginers question. Where on earth is my ECU?

Hi all, A stupid question to ask but I am trying to check my wiring harness for oil ingress - it appears to be a well know problem on the TD5. I posted earlier and Jim very kindly answered suggesting I "check the red plug on the ECU for oil". Where is the ECU and the red plug...

    TD5 acceleration stutters

Jim, Thanks. I'm very pleased to hear it shouldn't be the injectors. Although, I now have to ask my stupid question for the day. Where abouts am I looking for the ECU (and the plug)? I've tried to trace back from the injectors but am having trouble finding it. Many thanks Neil

    TD5 acceleration stutters

Hi all, I month or two ago I bought my first landrover - an X plate TD5 defender. Loving it but I have one problem. If I accelerate with full throttle in 5th then at about 55- 60mph it judders as if one cylinder is dropping out (or alteast not providing as much power as the others)...
