Just been out to try FL1,2,3 or 4 and the lights were off so I've closed the bonnet and locked all the doors manually. When locking the drivers door with the key the horn beeps once, does this indicate there is a problem or the alarm is set? Many thanks in advance

Ah good point, 'tis a TD5, 2001. I've just been out and removed all the FL fuses one by one in the engine bay and the dash lights stay on. Just trying to find out the source so I can leave it overnight secure without the alarm going off.

Sincere thanks again to all who helped diagnose this. Fitted it yesterday, let it run through the 3min bleed sequence, then the battery was flat. Put some jump leads on and fired straight up. In total it took around an hour, I started messing with the 3rd row seats so I could take the trim out...

Hopefully, I ordered one last night, should be here tomorrow. I got some Torx bits today so might attack the 3rd row seat to get the carpet up tonight and cover off so it's ready to swap out when it arrives.

Tried the relay this morning, no change. I was on my own though so couldn't listen to see if it was energising. Fuse was good though. I'll attack with a multimeter tonight to see if it's getting the feed. Hopefully it is as then I know exactly what the fault is. Thanks again for the assistance

I had a similar problem to this in mine. Mine was a dodgy track rod end on the draw bar for the steering. As the brake was applied the draw bar in effect got shorter, allowing the right front wheel to point out, the steering wheel also moved. Might be worth checking out.

Not very experienced with the TD5's however a friends Mk4 Astra had a similar problem. First thing to check are the connections, make sure that they are clean and have good contact. His problem was the potentiometer on the pedal. Hope that is of some help.
