Thanks to all for the help! While waiting for a reply a friend of mine asked if i had given the starter motor a good whack with a hammer! I tried this to no avail as there wasn't much access but i was getting so frustrated that i grabbed my wrecking bar from the garage and gave it a right good...

I have a 95' Automatic TDi XS Discovery and it won't start! The battery seems ok cos' the lights are really bright & everything else seems to work ok. The relay assembly clicks and then the fuel injection pump buzzes when the key is at position III but nothing at all happens when you turn once...
