We did look at the Toyota, his old work van destroyed 400k on a petrol lump, it just rusted away! Anyway - if we can't get it fixed, I think he's looking now at a cheaper pickup truck, warrior/ranger etc. I don't think he could stomach some of the repair bills of the newer RR's.

Hahah yeah, well he started looking at the Discovery 4 , RR Sport (L494) but it seems the 3.0 suffers from this "crank" issue, so he's not sure what approach to take if the L322 can't be fixed on the cheap !
