parislan, theres a couple of screws in the bottom of the lower cowl and the top clips to it, the rear of the ignition switch has a couple or three screws in it, take this part to bits and clean the contacts in it. this cured mine.

Hi there take it for a run and when you get home leave it running and see if the gauge rises then, a previous owner may well have took the center out of the thermostat. I have seen this before as a safegaurd after hgf repairto keep the engine cooler but all it does is keep the engine on choke...

Hi Had the same fault on my last freelander, cleaned contacts in ignition switch job done never happened again. easy to do remove plastic cover from around steering remove back of ignition switch and clean the copper contacts inside easy job to do hope this helps...

Hi below the inlet manifold you have a coolent rail which connects to the plastic thermostat housing at either end of this there is a rubber o ring get a mirror and have a look down there one of those may be weeping, it may not leak when your engine is cold, but when its up to normal operating...

Hi worn bush/mount on rear diff, about £20 and half hour diy. usually the one at the front, get under it and push the prop shaft up and down you will see the play in the worn bush. hope this helps..

hi fashion. Dont drill out the bolts just remove the switch with the ignition wire terminals on it at the back of the bolted on part which your key go's into two or three screws if i remember correctly its an easy job. AAA
