    Pipe identification

i was changing the filters the other day and noticed this pipe looking worse for wear, I am away from the vehicle at the moment but wanted to order a new part but am struggling to identify it, can anyone point me in the right direction ?

If someone says they can rustproof a defender in a day then it’s surely they are talking poo poo

My 2004 defender is parked less than 10 meters from the sea….. its been there 10 years and it’s there 95 % of the time as I only drive 2000- 2500 miles each year. I spray wax oil on the outside in each year and a mixture of old engine oil, wax oil and diesel into the chassis, it’s never been...

    Dyslexia……

It was my fault and I have moved on…… I will try and find a home for the two new solid front discs and a set of pads Just bloody happy it was a simple fix.

    Dyslexia……

    Dyslexia……

Yes I purchased the calliper brackets as well so that’s sorted, I will double check what I have and have not got.. I am unaware of what the spacers look like …. I had imagined them as large washers but will investigate.

    Dyslexia……

yes your correct so I will buy a set of vented rotors (discs) and the correct pads for the td4 callipers and some spacers and let you know how I get on. Thanks

    Dyslexia……

Yes online but I have already opened the boxes and tried to fit one side :( also the company has a very strict no return policy.
  14. CPD1973

    Dyslexia……

@Nodge68 This is very helpful indeed, so I all I have to do is fit the correct brake pads (as I got the correct ones for the old callipers….) and fit 5mm spacers behind the wheels to stop them hitting the calliper and all will be good ? I have solid (new) discs on the front not vented but I am...

    Dyslexia……

Caliper Assembly Front Brake RH to YA999999 John craddock seem to stock them but how do I know what part to get, the vehicle is my island car (no pubic roads) and it’s been years since I have seen the log book…….
  16. CPD1973

    Dyslexia……

I can’t seem to find a supplier who sells the callipers and calliper holders, I will look at reconditioning the holders as they are potentially salvageable…. This would save some cash. I will continue to look.

    Dyslexia……

    So frustrated with myself :(
  18. CPD1973

    Dyslexia……

@GrumpyGel It has solid front discs, I managed to get the discs correct……. just the bloody callipers, they fit on but it’s obviously wrong as when you put the wheel on the calliper catches the wheel
  19. CPD1973

    Dyslexia……

Very frustrated as I have just purchased new discs, pads, callipers and calliper holders for my 1.8 2000 freelander…. being dyslexic I mistakenly read the part identification wrong and got the parts for the td4 rather than the petrol 1.8 needless to say I can’t return the parts I am gutted...

    Another valuation question

Thanks for the replies, the value of a replacement was my own concern and when I spoke to the NFU they told me to go away and do some research and get back to them, I will go back to them with a figure if 15k and see what they say, I will report back here when I get an answer.
