having same problem here,bought my 2001 ES 7 seat auto in dec for £9995 from 4x4 dealer,spent £1000 in jan on 20" alloys and chrome side steps,now need to sell and not getting any calls for it at £6,500.thats a £4,500 loss in 5 months if i can sell, its just a case of cut your losses and get on...

had this happen once on mine,just switched off for 2 mins then restarted,lights out,was told its with changing between forward and reverse to quickly,engine/gearbox trying to change direction before its stopped, i know this is different to your ferry situation, but not seen them since

another good way is to use Cif cream cleaner, only around a quid a bottle

hi all,the petrol flap on my 2001 td5 keeps popping open, it seems to be the little black catch thats causing it,can this be replaced, if so any idea what name it goes by

had it checked out today,no air leaks or anything like that so it must be me, only other thing i will do is wait till i see another disco at asda and compare that one to mine to see if does the same.

not that im aware of,its a one lady owner from new with full main dealer history,i have looked through all papers that came with it and they are just the usual service records,tyre reciepts etc,it might just be me thats hearing strange noises as this is my first landy after driving hyundai...

just been out and tried all that,it drives spot on,changes gear when it should,it tickes over at 750 rpm,the hiss comes in at 1000 rpm and then it drives away and doesnt hiss anymore until revs have dropped to tick over and you start off again

yes it does creep on flat or in traffic,but it hisses when you start to accelerate again after slowing down,i was told that its the turbo that makes the noise and nothing to worry about

hi to everyone,i am a new disco owner and have a question 4 you. i have bought a 2001 td5 es auto,when i press the accelerater it lets out what can only be described as a hiss before it actually moves.is this the norm and if so could you tell me what it is. thankyou
