i have someone else doing it who works for a land rover company and supplied the diff ,plus came to my yard

hi guys Thanks, turktowner does sound very similar, someone is going to look at it later for me , we've drained the diff oil which looks fine ,not metallic in any way. No play in pinion bearing either , sound defo coming from diff though. will keep posted

Yeah lots of play of some sort ! ujs all seem tight. how long would this take an experienced landy mechanic to sort out? worst case scenario with the diff??

I think I'm gonna have to hand it to the garage , I would be up to the task but doing it all on the floor I really can't be bothered with anymore , would you say it's diff though ?

I've been down to the yard today , She's fine at slow speeds once you get speed up the sound is disgusting , got it back and this sound seems to be coming from rear diff

Normally drove it back,the more I think about it now I'm thinking possible large stone or rock caught in the disc shield ?? Il have to go back down there and have a look

So after loading the 110 with logs today ,1.5 builders bag, driving down the road about two miles heard a not very nice clunk then a bang. and like something flew off. managed to get it back to the yard. once in the yard the noise is now non existent. cant hear it . all ujs have no play in them...

I have a theory that it's for if your in a war zone and are ambushed or attacked it makes difficult for enemy to stop or obtain your vehicle , maybe I just think too much

Hi all , just to clarify , it is an oil leak ! I have changed the rocker cover gasket today , I left it running once done after about an hour I was getting a slight amount of oil coming from that rubber d at the back of the engine . Not lots but still leaking all the same , I used a little...

Hi Scooby, the fpr looks pretty clean, only the oil thats been running down back of the engine from rocker cover gasket near around the fpr from what i can see. I'm going to do the rocker cover gasket tomorrow and hopefully that cures it! Thank you

Thanks mate ! i cant see diesel leaking from anywhere . could this be diesel coming out through the rocker cover?
