On my 93 RRC the holes for the front mud flaps were there. They fit on the flat of the underside. I would think normal metal drill bit would do the job easily. It is a rust area though, use a rust inhibitor on the bare metal.

Do you still have your old unit? I sent mine off to Clarion in Swindon and got it reconditioned; so far so good. A little pricy at £70, but less work with the wiring.

Hello
I've been looking over the base idle screw today trying to fix mu cold idle problem on my 93 4.2lre LSE. One thing I could not figure out was, how does the base idle screw work? I read that turning it counterclockwise speeds up the idle and clockwise decreases it, but I couldn't see...
Hello
To round off this thread. I sent the ECU to the "ECU Repair Centre" in the Netherlands and for 105EURs I got a recon one back. All works fine.

Well, with cruise control fault manual in hand I've gone through all the checks and got to the one that says it is the ECU. Searching the web for a replacement it looks like £160 is the average price. I also found the "ECU Repair Centre" in the Netherlands, anyone tried them before?
cheers

Hello
My 93 RRC LSE 4.2l cruise control works fine for about 5 minutes on the motorway and then cuts out. The light on the dash stays on, but the CC will not switch back on. I give it a couple of days and it works for about 5 minutes again.
I haven't given the system a real good check over...
Hello
I replaced both seat base pads on my 93 RRC this year. The seat back pads were fine. Easy, but fiddly job.
There are two relays under the central compartment between the seats and one or two fuses (I think one) under the passenger seat. If you push the buttons on the dash the...
Battery conections are all good.
I've got a little more from the weekend as it happened again while I was gently reversing into a parking space. Cough, splutter and then stall. Started it back up and engine was the usual smooth V8. The next day I read the ECU and found the error "(48) IDLE...
Hello
Difficult one to track down at the moment. My "93 RRC LSE 4.2 auto" drives very smoothly except on the odd occasion when the engine 'cuts out' momentarily and then restarts.
Over the last week or so it has become a regular occurrence. The pattern seems to be that after about 20...
Might try these guys. They had a good selection of RRC dashboard bulbs. I'm sure there are others on the net.

Just to wrap this post off. After coming to the conclusion that that POT was probably OK, I went through all the wiring I could see, wiggling it and cleaning it. That was about 4 weeks ago, the error has not come back in that time.
Thanks

Hello
I had the same fault on my 93 RRC LSE. The sensor and wires looked ok and seemed to give good readings when hooked up to a VOM. So I cleared the fault.
I noticed the fault came back everytime I went through large puddles. Made sure the wire seals were good, but puddles made it...
