Have you notified your insurance company of all the changes?

You have a noisy vehicle, a bit of foam won't help.

I stripped out all the rubber and stuff, it just traps water leading to rust in the foot wells. Defenders are noisy. End.

I had a similar problem, the indicator lens was full of water.

Cleaned everything I could find with wirewool and WD40, started first time. Now I'm worried. I didn't find a fault and dread being stuck somewhere with a dead Defender. Thank you everyone, I'll make sure I take all my tools everywhere :-)

Thanks for the advice, no lights of any description,no warning lights, oil light etc. Just tried it again with the battery charger connected, it tried to turn over but quickly died. Very odd, it wouldn't do that when I tried to jump it. I'll look at the ignition switch.

Hi, Defender 90 tdi 300 1997 When I turn the ignition key nothing happens, it won't turn over, no click, nothing. Checked all the fuses in the inside fuse box, checked the relays, checked and cleaned the big fuses in the engine compartment. Battery is fully charged according to my charger...

I've got a radio in my 90, waste of space, can't hear it. The engine, tyre and wind noise plus the booming of the panels blocks the sound. It switches itself off over bumps.

If you don't like slow noisy vehicles why buy a Defender? Drive at 50mph, be happy.

I have similar problems...... But only when it rains. Check for water in the fuse box behind the gear lever, it seeps in through the bulk head. Check there is no water behind the indicator/light glass.

Happened to me, wheel bearing welded itself.

It took me a year to find my 90 and prices are going up, demand for Defenders that have not been ruined by modifications exceeds a dwindling supply.

Mounted my spare wheel on the bulkhead. Used a couple of steel drilled steel reinforcing straps from WIckes and a few nuts and bolts. Cost about £10, cheap and simple.

My temperature guage goes up slighty when I switch the lights on. Defender 90 1997 tdi300. Similar problem / solution?

Also check whether you can get it insured, it's heavily modified and most companies won't insure it.
