Yes, definitely, this would be more like a dirty quick fix until the switch is replaced.

I do not know if anyone posted pictures of a switch taken apart so here they are. It's an older version 100170, I was going to try to fix it, clean it and roughen up the contacts with sand paper, that check if it's going to work. To take it apart first pull the pin out, than carefully pry out...
