I have a freelander 1 2.0 td4 2003 sports. About a week ago I noticed it took longer to start than usual about 7 seconds when cold and twice as long when hot then on Monday it refused to start at all but it will bump start fine and run normally with no lights on the dash, I've replaced the cam sensor but made no difference. Replaced diesel filter again no difference. Did the leak back test on injectors injector 1 squirted a little diesel out at first just a few drops but tried it again a few times but nothing afterwards, the diesel pump in the back won't stop buzzing with ignition on so It makes me think injector doesn't hold pressure so still tries to pump it back in. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks.

could the broken belt have severed a cable (camshaft sensor for example)

Have a good look round for other damage

It turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator in the HP pump. Just another problem of problems I've had with it. Thanks anyway.

Hi there,
I do not mean to hijack the thread, but I have somewhat similar problem and see no point in opening another one. So, it's 52 plate, check engine, mil light, comes on after going above 2500 revs and goes out after turning the engine off. Diagnostic shows 1190 and 1195 faults, unreliable pressure on a rail and something wrong with a high pressure valve. The pressure on idle fluctuate somewhere between 28000 and 30000 psi, and I read it's supposed to be steady. The LP pump at the rear wheel shows around 3.7 bars though it's a bit noisy. Also have a bit longer start 4-5 seconds and I noticed that engine does not shuts off right away after turning the key, but rather keeps on running for another 2 seconds before it stops. All points to a HP valve. Does anyone know if there are interchangeable parts for this thing. I know it's supposed to be Bosch 0281002480, but is there another that can fit?
