    Turns out you are spot on. The brand new Hella alternator is not out putting any voltage. Ill contact the supplier after the weekend holiday and arrange a replacement. Thanks to every one for their input.

    Yes the connection is good. Both cables, the copper was quite black, so I cut the back and rewired the. Im sure its not a connection issue. I cant see why the tachometer and the ignition light should be effected together.

    300tdi When the car is started everything is fine. After about 5 minutes running, the tachometer stops working and the ignition light comes on. Anyone got an idea whats what?

    Yes they are 46mm. Binned the old seals.Will just have to be careful. The one you have linked to should do the job. Have to say they look very cheap.

    Early 110 V8 Taking the front calipers off, new discs and pads. When I took off the second 17mm bolt that holds on the support bracket for the flexible connection, oil is leaking heavily from the bottom of he seal on the swivel hub. Put the bolt back in and the leak stops. Whats that all about?

    Defender 110 v8 converted to 300tdi. Trying fit a new exhaust down pipe. And will it go...will it ****. Just cant get it to go up into place.(said the bishop to the actress) It looks like I might need to take the drag link bar off. Surely not. Am I missing a trick?
