Back from the dead...did you make any further progress with turbos?

We're on the same page...I've also looked at the mechanical GT2259V's from the mid 90's Benz's. Those OM612/613 engines were REALLY strong. I can't see why reclocking the case and making a flange wouldn't work. Flanges and manifolds are no problem for me...couple of friends do CNC fab work.

More digging, few more pics: Power seemed surprisingly strong for a TD5 with 308k kms...took a look under the passenger seat and sure enough there's a "Powerlink" box attached to the ECM: The guy that invented wire taps should shot and ****ed on: Oil has wicked down the harness...

How much success has there been with diy VNT/VGT for the TD5?

Something from a UK vendor will end up being in the neighborhood of $2K CAN by the time it lands here... Has anyone had any success going to the DIY route for a TD5 turbo swap? Various mechanical VNT/VGT turbos are available from wrecking yards here and I have unfettered access to welding and...

Frame/chassis/driveline: Actually pretty solid. It appears that my corrosion problems are mostly limited to body panels. It's also leak free/drip free after parking in the same spot for 48 hours.

Interior: Rear seat belts; seat attaching hardware and interior trim panels are AWOL. Door corrosion...the front doors are "ok", the rear doors and rear cargo door are probably too far gone:

Gave it a quick wash and vac, reinstalled the seats with whatever hardware was in the vehicle and took some detailed pics: Exterior...definitely been well used:

Hi everyone, Recently imported a 1999 110. Import was an expensive pita but it's here now and I'm looking forward to getting it cleaned up. Seems to have some common issues for the year/mileage...door corrosion, oil in injector harness, etc. Pics to follow, will definitely be looking for...

Hi everyone. New TD5 owner from the 'burbs north of Toronto. Diving off the deep end and peeling apart a 110SW TD5, will definitely be asking questions. Thanks, John.
