    Engine Refresh

I'd need to know more about the proper service history, but my first port of call would probably be injectors - obviously depending on when they were last changed.. 2nd would be a watching brief on the CHG - LR specify 250K change - so I'd consider a pre-emptive strike, if it suits your plans..

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

I like the fact that there is now some competition in the market - whether I'd have one ? - I don't know.. The Massey 6S-190 behind has more interest TBH - and is more use ..

    Defender L663 review !

IIRC, it was a certain Gordon Brown, who changed the rulez.. before same the rules were quite simple.. I also heard that the change was done following / through lobbying - the end result being that double cab pickups became very popular more or less overnight - it was actually the reason we...

    Just starting a rebuild

Welcome Aboard :) Worth considering re- routing your loom - keeping it inside the body if possible .. Depends if you CBA'd.. ;)

    D1 bonnet mystery

No, you don't. ... And yet, when Kev states:- +1 - :ttiwwp: The wings are adjustable - but we need sight of the vehicle to see what is occurring ... :p

    Galvanized spray paint

Yep, use that too ... mainly on farm gates where the galv gets knocked off when some fool hits them with a tractor or somesuch.. Works well IME.

    Galvanized spray paint

+1 on getting them re-galvanised.. I'm sure you can find some other bits to get re-galve'd to get beyond the minimum spend ;) ;) I've used Bilt Hambers Electrox:- https://bilthamber.com/product/electrox/ Mainly for touching up zintec sheet after welderizing on our D1's... :vb-stir: So, I've...

    Disco 1 - Is it a classic?

I think the D1 is a complete classic - IMHO it is probably the pinnacle of vehicle engineering - simple enough to maintain without complex diagnostics, and what electronics are on it are either repairable, or replaceable, or ignorable without compromising basic vehicle functions - something...

    Chassis Treatment

My own recent experience with waxoyl leaves a lot to be desired.. actually a hell of a lot . Such a contrast to how it used to be . I’m rather annoyed about the state of the chassis on SWMBO’S D1 after copious waxoyling, … Lanolin based products seem to get good reviews, but I...

    I Need Help to make a Decision!! - 2.25 5mb petrol or 2.5n/a diesel????

I too would go petrol every time in any series LR :) V8 is lovely, but thirsty, but...oh that sound :D:D:D Diesels of that era are too noisy for my ears now, and I wouldn't bother, even with the slight increase in MPG - I passed my test in a petrol SIIA, then we had a diesel SIII - the IIA is a...

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

Pretty sure we've all been there - barely a day goes by without me hot gluing something back together - and I still make mistakes   :D - I made some notes of settings which work for various materials - keep them in/on the welder - where the wire lives on the MIG - stuck to the...
