Tried to repair wheel arch liner with heat-gun and bits of milk-bottle. Not surprisingly it is much worse now. These liners seem a lot thinner than others I have repaired with success. Does anyone know if they are PP or HDPE? -H

If you don't want it on, you can pull the fuse out!. It [the FBH] can mask faults with the engine thermostat, so worth disabling as an experiment at least. I would expect the MPG to go down with the FBH fighting against a slow thermostat, but I have no evidence to support this.
