    ok, a little confused. bought the 10mm studs for the bell housing from craddocks (only took 21/2 weeks to send 7 bolts, had to ring them in the end) went to fit this morning, wont screw in. Got torch and had look inside holes, all the holes in the flywheel housing are clean, untapped 8mm holes...

    Thanks for all the info. can only find them on craddocks. just while i'm on, took the water pump off (totally knackered) an had to weld some oversized nuts on to get the bolts out.. anyone know were you can get the 3 short 2 medium, 2 long bolts from?

    Ah right, in that case i'll get 6 studs ordered from craddocks. I'll have a look on that thread as i heard you have to drill and tap one side to make a disco engine fit? Infact i think i'll have a good look and see what has and hasnt been done!

    Bought a 90 that had a new chassis fitted and disco1 engine fitted recently. After 3 or 4 months thought the clutch was going, slave cylinder or something, but then quickly it wouldnt even mesh into gear?? Underneath there was a nut were it was parked up.. had a look and out of the 7 studs...

    I'm a sheep farmer in the yorkshire dales. Actually its great having a landy again... they were always streets ahead for grip, went down a hill on the moor today in 2 wheel drive were i wouldn't in the l200 or shogun. However i never forget what landys are like and mine has windscreen wipers...

    Thanks alot, i've alot to learn. Out of interest why did they use a td5 chassis as it had a petrol engine in and they put a 200tdi in? It obviously doesn't matter?

    Just bought this defender... not sure what richards chassis it is (swb? No nothing about them) has had a 200tdi put in lr. Need to pull a sheep trailer so need a drop hitch... which one should i be buying, and will it be low enough with 2' lift springs? The guy sold me some hd standard springs...

    I'm a farmer by the way so they have to work, father got a l200 after the defender, nothing beats a landrover off road (you could always put your feet throught the floor for more push)... it was alot more comfortable (except a little bumpy) to sit in, quiet, warm, and much like a car, and cost...

    Memories of my dads landrover, noisy, windy on the inside!, rusty, bits flling off, windows falling down when slamming the door, which you had to do to shut it, uncomfortable, low seating position so your face was inline with the steering wheel, rough engine, cr*p lights, cold, rubbish heaters...
