2005 Disco 3 FBH has decided to start chucking out ridiculous amounts of smoke. I have had the car 2 1/2 years and it has not done this before. Thanks guy's, very helpful. I have now checked the switch, power to it is ok and power through it to headlamps ok but nothing through fog lights part. everything else seams to be as it should, bulbs, earths etc so have narrowed it down to the switch itself and ordered a new one. fingers crossed

no fog lamps on disco 3. checked fuses and relays and found no power to fuses 32 & 38. why would this be?

What did they charge you

It is a strange one and no doubt I will find out what it's for eventually but yes, for the time being I will just seal it up. The fact that it's sucking air in it must affect the performance so I may well see an improvement, hopefully! If I find out what's ment to be there I'll let you know...

Doh! Cant work out picture upload but basically the 'hole' is in the middle of the inlet manifold, directly below the centre of the exhaust manifold. its as if there should be something in there like a sensor or something? if I can work out the uploading I will post a picture

Only reason for trying a mini one is because it was Sunday morning, nowhere is open to get a proper one today and I had one lying around that I new worked so I thought I'd try it. It does work , or at least the ignition light now goes out but it's only putting 12v to the battery so I guess it...

Can someone tell me if it is totally out of order to put a Mini alternator on a 200tdi engine? at the moment it has a Lucas B127, the mini one is a Lucas 115/45 and it fits but wasnt sure what problems this may cause. Cheers.
