clutch adjustment after it came back from garage

iwallace - just sorted mine, even though your description of your problem sounded like mine I found that the internals of my clutch master cylinder were broken which kept pressure on the slave as only part of the piston was returning - a weird problem and one I had not seen before. A new master...

    Mysterious Clutch Spin/Slip? SWB 1985 90 2.5 NA

Ok - just got the new master cylinder in - when I took the old one off and dismantled it, it was clear that there was a physical fault. I don't understand what the piece actually does but as it no longer fitted into the main body that holds the two seals it was being left behind when I took my...

    Mysterious Clutch Spin/Slip? SWB 1985 90 2.5 NA

I guess it's time to swap the master cylinder out - any recommendations as to make/where to get one that's been tried and you guys have found to be OK?. I have never had a master cylinder do this to me before, loose it's seal yes but not stop the slave working - that's a weird one on me...

    Mysterious Clutch Spin/Slip? SWB 1985 90 2.5 NA

Symptoms: Clutch slips/spins? under heavy load eventually loses drive altogether, worse when hot and then frequently afterwards. Doesn’t work in any ratio or with difflock on – can sit there in gear ticking over. Gears all work fine and drives fine most of the time. Leave it alone for half an...

early 2.5 NA 90 injector pump cold start problem

FIXED! And all it was was a blocked bleed airway, how simple was that? - brilliant advice and I would never have know if it wasn't for the heads up. Cheers for getting me going again.

early 2.5 NA 90 injector pump cold start problem

That's a pretty comprehensive list - brilliant. I have just come back in and found that the small hole you refer to was blocked up with a fairly large chunk of wood fibre and took some forcing back into the main drilling - checked through everything else you mentioned and will have to wait now...

early 2.5 NA 90 injector pump cold start problem

Thanks for the useful input - I had not considered the possibility that the thing could be gummed up - I think what I would like to try is a cleaner/additive and see if this helps but the offer of a good pump is very tempting as it's a bugger to drive, thank you. How do folks here go about doing...

This is a 1985 SWB 90 NA Bit of background. Engine is currently ex MOD and in good condition. Starts off key cold in 10 seconds, bought to swap out the old engine which was worn out. Guy I bought it off said engine was said good but in fact when dropped in ran like a dog – swapped the...

Greetings to all, first time landy user – guess you have to start sometime, I’m so used to four-hoof drive... Working on a long term project converting a barn to live in and my electrician has kindly lent me his 1961 series 2 (if I can fix it) has stood for two plus years with a seized clutch...
