Sorry for the delay, update so far rear diff changed, transfer box changed and she still whines under load, thinking its either front diff or auto gearbox, any ideas

Hi all my 300 tdi auto Defender has a whine only under load and worse around 40-50 mph I have changed rear diff with no effect, mechanic thinks it’s the transfer box but he does not seem certain, still sounds as though it’s at rear of vehicle any ideas or things to check please

Hi they are the disco diffs with HD pans fitted, engine transfer box and Auto box standard disco , it’s a nice conversion

Winch bumper and winch fitted yesterday, led lights already on , roof lining fitted( that was a pain in the arse) new wheels waiting for tyres, trouble is each time I go on eBay the list gets longer, thinking about removable steering wheel to deter the thieving scroats

Started as a straight purchase until we found chassis had been well covered up which left 2 choices scrap it or go for it, 4 months later mechanicals it’s done, bought an old disco for the Engine, Auto box and axles, shot Last all items, and rebuilt new Marsland chassis with all new suspension...

It’s now a 300 tdi Auto, first decent run today and runs a dream, terrafirma suspension is fantastic

Hi all well it’s nearly finished 92 Defender 300 tdi Auto conversion on new galvanised chassis, terrafirma suspension rebuilt axles the list goes on but now on the pretty bits

Hi sounds like possible water ingress to the wiring harness, remove the door card and check harness, D2 suffers from faults with the rear door lock which usually results in replacing the operating solenoid, it sounds as though the short burst to the wiper is a short from the supply to the door...
