OK guys Ive tried all the reset trick to no avail. The tailgate is acting as if there is no message to the car telling it that the door is shut. Could this be a faulty handle/microswitch or locking mechanism?????

I had similar on a 2005 1.8 and it was a cracked IRD bracket, as soon as I took it to Landrover they said thats what it would be and after replacement the car ran smooth as silk.
