Thanks Wammers, so basically a 12pin mirror will work fine with a 10pin car... with the extra 2 pins just unused! thanks.

in picture comparison, I noticed the 10 and 12 pin sockets are the same, just the 10 pin is missing 2 pins leaving empty holes there instead... so it should work yeah? it just means the auto dimming will not work? can anyone confirm which version the 96 4.0 SE has?
