Same ideas been going through my head lately if I could find one cheap enough. My plan would be to put all the running gear from the disco on the fender.As yours is a high cap it might have a salisbury rear axle on.

Not that I can help,but what set up have you got as land rover never made thier mind up with rear lights on a disco. I put fender indercators on the back of mine to do away with the bumper lights,but had no trouble with side lights,mine had them in both pillar and bumper so I just unplugged and...

Nice.springs are easy to fit as long as bolts come undone ok. Easiest way is jack the disco on the chassis, then put your bottle jack between the chassis and axle and pump it untill you've got room to work. Don't bother with sring compressors:)

Cut out the alarm siren,that way you only get the indercators flashing.once unlocked with fob only use key as some can be weird like mine. As in if I lock with fob I have to unlock with fob,if I use the key to unlock the alarm goes off,but if I use the key to lock/unlock the alarm disarms fine.

If you haven't got the worries of a multi changer,bung an aftermarket one in. You'll always find a second hand one going cheap in purbeck:)

What have you tried so far? Hammer and chizzle might be a last ditch attempt.

I've alway put mine in gear first and then a short sharp tap with a hammer in the right direction,which is the wrong direction on my 300:)

As above,don't bother with grp unless its just for show. I self tapped mine on,but if you've got to take them off for any reason its best to rivet as they won't go back as good.

Seems alot for patching, I would buy a new panel and get it renewed,however that could open up a can of worms. If its for an mot,get it patched and repair proper at a later date.

Well Im in the who cares camp now. I live in england,I rtv once a month and do the odd play day. Alloys work fine for this use and if one ever fails I'll aways be able to get home. Abroad or on a camel trophie style trip then steel hands down,but in good old blighty it realy doesn't matter.

Camel cuts all you'd need and wouldn't look out of place or be hard to do:)

Good point,I've never needed cones,when trialing your not aloud to dislocate at all and you get proper crossed up sometimes. Horses for corses realy. I think WLM was thinking of going down the upside down cone route,might be worth a chat with him.
