been reading up that if you have alot if articulation on the rear, inverted dislcation cones are the way to go.ive alredy got normal dislocation cones would it be possible to just mount them the other way up or is not that simple

ermm how do you turn a cone upside down. surely it then becomes a pyramid and defeats the object of having the spring relocate onto the cone??

A quick google seems to suggest that what you are actually on about is bolting the cone to the spring seat and then bolting the spring to themounting at the top. Why???? spring travel is spring travel the spring won't care which end it's bolted at and the axle will move by the same amount regardless of the end you bolt the cone to, So what possible difference can it make???

been reading up like every on one here says to do before u say anthing.and seems that when the spring is mounted to the axle and the dislocation cone at the top the spring can some times miss the cone and rub on the tyre.but if you do it the othere way round theres less chance it can miss

If you do it the other way and it misses the cone you'll be shoving the spring into the back wheel and the brake caliper..

surely longer cones or spring over shock setup is the only real cure

Depends how extreme your going with it. Alot of the twist off lads seem to run the set up your talking about. If I was going big it would be that way,as said it seems to line up better on return.

twistoff int agood indicator though is it?? after all the vehicle is stationary for a start. and all movements are very slow. with no bouncing around etc.

If his only concern is rubbing on tyres. It's fairly obvious that you've lost the spring, And not like you're gonna be driving around with it dislocated.

Good point,I've never needed cones, when trialing your not aloud to dislocate at all and you get proper crossed up sometimes. Horses for corses realy. I think WLM was thinking of going down the upside down cone route, might be worth a chat with him.

I've done it once in a disco at a P&P site and it took 2 mninutes to pop it back in. but that was with std shocks and springs.
