I agree with SpringDon; has the current owner been using a fully synthetic oil? The garage has probably recommended a mineral 15w-40 oil, its thicker viscosity will reduce oil consumption. The good news a quality mineral "truck" oil is only £16 for 5 litres.

Update: My intermittent wipe issue was due to a dodgy relay; replacing with the VW delay relay has fixed the issue + has given me an adjustable intermittent wiper.

Recently upgraded my radio with a more powerful unit in my 110. I was very pleased to discover that this relatively cheap mod has masked all those expensive sounding knocks, bangs, whistles and clunks that used to have me constantly worrying.

Oh crap, I've just fitted a Delphi pump. That's a lot of pumps, are you running on veggy? Are the original Land Rover units any better?

Turned out that the switch contact attached to the wire was badly corroded - removed & cleaned now functions as intended.:)
